Green Aqua MICRO Plant Fertilizer

8.50 inc. VAT

It is our strong view that Green Aqua liquid fertilizers are the best, most stable and last but not least the cheapest liquid ferts on the market.

We developed this world-class liquid plant fertilizer based on Mr. Tom Barr’s famous Estimative Index (EI) method. It provides a balanced and well designed fertilizing method to all tanks – from high-light CO2 injection aquariums to low-tech small tanks.

IMPORTANT: Your plants need MACRO and MICRO elements as well as CO2 to thrive. If any of the components are running low missing from your water you will experience algae bloom. If you keep all fertilizers at proper levels and you change water regularly (once-a-week 50% is ideal) then fertilizer related algae issues will be virtually non-existent. Keep in mind, that most aquatic plants will also need proper CO2 injection to be healthy and you also need to have proper lighting and good filtration.

Green Aqua fertilizers have been tested for many years under various conditions. They have proven to be successful in many demanding Nature Aquariums. This is our number one product range.

Contents: Aqueous solution of very stable Chelated Trace Elements (Fe-HEEDTA, Mn, Cu, Zn, B, Mo).

Description

Use Green Aqua MACRO and MICRO together with one of our various liquid carbon products in order to provide for everything your aquatic plants need in regards of liquid fertilizers.

Why is Green Aqua MICRO special?

Because it contains strong Chelates. Iron – for example – can not dissolve in water, except if it is attached to other molecules called Chelates. It is important that this chemical bond is strong enough under high-light conditions, otherwise iron can be released and will react with phosphates causing harmful precipitation in your filter. Filtration problems will result in poor ammonia transformation (nitrification) and cause algae bloom in your aquarium. In contrary to many other (EDTA) fertilizers on the market, we use strong and stable HEEDTA chelates with Fe in our fertilizer!

Should I be careful with UV filters when adding ferts?

Yes, you should. UV filtration – due to its strong lighting – can cause the breakage of even the strongest chelates. We recommend you only switch on the UV filters at night, and only for short periods of time if necessary. Dose only after the UV has been switched off. Note: only MICRO fertilizers are affected by UV, the MACRO ferts are NOT affected by it.

STORAGE: Avoid direct sunlight. Keep it in a cabinet, at room temperature. Do not refrigerate.

3 water changes / week (at startup)1.62.22.83.344.6
We recommend a minimum of 50% waterchange every week.

Please note that some pumps may dose a slightly different amount, so always check their performance before use, especially in the case of big aquariums. Under 200 liters these errors are marginal.

The frequency and amount of water changes influences fertilizer dosage levels directly. Please check the dosage chart from the images in order to determine the exact dosage requirements of your aquatic plants. Also, low-light, non-CO2 systems will need considerably less then high-light CO2 systems. Add 1 ml / 20 liters / week or less for low-tech fishtanks. You can also try to slowly decrease dosage amounts by small steps and observe the reaction. This will takes weeks, but it might save you 20-30% MACRO and MICRO in the long run. We do not recommend however to reduce nutrient levels to a critical low, as that will result in algae bloom.

IMPORTANT: make sure that you have your dosage levels synchronized with your water change plan. If you fail to reset your fishtank fertilizer levels with regular changes, they can accumulate in your fishtank. Excessive levels (for example Nitrates over 40-50 ppm) will result in restricted growth and fish health issues.

Considering all of the above, please know usually the lack of nutrients is a bigger problem than excess nutrients.

The Green Aqua MICRO contains a very balanced set of trace elements.
