Willow Moss (Fontinalis antipyretica)

4.50 inc. VAT

Fontinalis antipyretica, or willow moss, is most widely spread in the northern hemisphere. It is a true aquatic moss and can be found in many flowing and stagnant waterbodies.

This willow moss is a cold-water moss that grows slowly without co2. It’s great when creating moss trees especially if you want the “willow tree” look which is how it got its nick name. If using co2 you’ll notice the moss grows at a faster speed and becomes a lush green! You can still achieve this without co2 but it takes a while. Willow moss looks best attached to wood and it’s recommended to use glue as tying it can cause breakage and you’ll end up with pieces floating everywhere.

This plant is grown locally (Malta) by one of our partner aquarium plant keepers/breeders.  You are buying the equivalent of a tub of 5cm of willow moss.
