Description
These versatile Catappa tubes are made from the bark of the Sea Almond, also known as Catappa tree. This tree has active properties and releases tannins and saponins in the aquarium. Catappa is widely known as having the strongest antibacterial and antifungal effect.
The tubes are a natural aquarium decoration and provide an ideal shelter for snails, shrimps, crayfishes and other aquarium inhabitants. You can stack these tubes as part of your aquascaping design.
When introduced in the aquarium, the Catappa bark tubes will float before sinking to the bottom. This can be sped up by putting them in hot water for a few minutes. Since these tubes release natural active ingredients, it is enough to introduce 2 tubes per 25L of water.
Note: We sell this item by its weight since most catappa bark comes in different lengths (at the different diameter sizes). If you prefer to have a specific length, let us know in your order and we will try to meet the required minimum length for the requested quantity first and any remaining weight will be then added in separate tubes.
